Kenyan advocates call government to put people living with NCDs at the centre of COVID-19 response

14th August 2020

On August 11th, NCD Alliance of Kenya's Caucus of People Living with NCDs issued a public statement with key 'asks' for the Government of Kenya during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drawing attention to the disruptions in NCD services during the pandemic, people living with NCDs have called on the Government to ensure a resilient and uninterrupted supply chain of essential NCD medicines and commodities; inclusion of people living with NCDs in social protection schemes; clear guidelines for people living with NCDs to safely attend re-opened clinics; and continuous education of healthcare providers on triaging and best practices for management of NCDs during health emergencies.
