International Osteoporosis Foundation

IOF is dedicated to the prevention of musculoskeletal diseases, a major cause of disability worldwide. We envisage a future in which people remain pain-free, mobile, and independent as they age.

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) is the only worldwide organization dedicated to the fight against osteoporosis and related musculoskeletal diseases. A not-for-profit, nongovernmental organization, IOF is comprised of scientists, physicians, corporate partners and more than 230 member patient and medical societies worldwide. IOF works with stakeholders and partner organizations to advance the understanding and awareness of bone, muscle and joint diseases. Through its many projects and programmes IOF seeks to empower the public and patients to take action for prevention and treatment; campaigns for health policy change; supports national patient societies; advances science and research; and assists healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care to patients in all regions of the world.
