10th Anniversary of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control

February 27 is the 10th anniversary of the entry into force of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The treaty now has 180 Parties, which account for nearly 90% of the world's population.

NCD Alliance submits statement to UN Commission for Social Development

The 53rd Session of the Commission for Social Development (CSOcD53) will take place from 4 – 13 February 2015 at UN Headquarters in New York. The theme for the session and for the Commission’s policy cycle 2015-2016 is “Rethinking and strengthening social development in the contemporary world.”

Updates on the Post-2015 Negotiations

The first intergovernmental session on the post-2015 development agenda took place earlier this week at UN Headquarters in New York. Under the theme "stocktaking", Member States were invited to provide their reflections on the post-2015 process so far, and lay broad expectations for the process ahead and for the entire post-2015 agenda, including the proposed sustainable development goals and targets.

Accountability is key to tracking progress on NCDs
