Durante la última década, el riesgo de accidente cerebrovascular (ACV) de por vida para las personas de 35 años o más ha aumentado de 1 de cada 6 a 1 de cada 4. Sin embargo, el 90% de los accidentes cerebrovasculares se asocian con factores de riesgo móviles y prevenibles. La campaña de este año se centra en el ejercicio como método de prevención. Es por eso que la Organización Mundial de Accidentes Cerebrovasculares (WSO) está llamandonos a unirnos al MoveMent (Movimiento) y ser parte de la cadena de baile más grande del mundo en el #DíaMundialACV.

Over the last decade, the lifetime risk of stroke for people aged 35 and over has increased from 1 in 6 to 1 in 4. Yet, 90% of strokes are associated with mobidiable and preventable risk factors. This year's campaign focuses on exercise as a method of prevention. That's why the World Stroke Organization (WSO) is calling everyone to Join the MoveMent and be a part of the world's biggest dance chain on #WorldStrokeDay.

In an effort to amplify the voices of people living with NCDs (PLWNCDs) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) and raise awerness about the specific needs and challenges of refugees living with NCDs in the region,  the Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance (EM-NCDA) participated at the recent virtual Regional Committee meeting (RCM 67).

Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)’s Directing Council took place from Monday 28 September - Tuesday 29 September 2020 and was held virtually for the first time with more than 400 participants connected. What last year was a weeklong meeting, this time shrank to two days. The focus of the Directing Council was centred on the response to COVID-19, and administrative, financial, and constitutional matters.
