WHA 68: NCD Alliance advocacy briefing and side events

The 68th World Health Assembly is approaching, taking place on 18-26 May in Geneva. Most WHA papers have now been published online and can be accessed here. Official discussions on NCDs are scheduled for Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May. The NCD Alliance has compiled an advocacy briefing with key messaging on health and NCDs.

UN General Assembly high-level thematic debate on the world drug problem

Today, 7 May, the President of the General Assembly, together with the UN’s Commission on Narcotic Drugs, will hold a high-level thematic debate in the lead-up to the April 2016 UN General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on the World Drug Problem. The UNGASS will review progress in implementation of the 2009 Political Declaration and Plan of Action on International Cooperation towards an Integrated and Balanced Strategy to Counter the World Drug Problem.
